Purity

Omegapure™ natural Unbleached Tasmanian salmon oil is produced from fish grown in the pristine waters of Tasmania.

It is the only omega 3 supplement available on the Australian market that is from Australian grown, single-source fish - and does not use bleach in the processing. Our salmon originates from the natural, unspoilt ecological paradise that is rural Tasmania, where the water is clean and free from contaminants. Washed by the cool waters of the Southern Ocean and the circumpolar currents, Tasmanian is the perfect environment for growing healthy, nutrient-rich salmon. Managing the water quality and benthic (top layer of sea floor) health around our aquaculture sites is the key to our fish quality.

Our suppliers are committed to sound environmental practices at our marine sites, and we are currently working to better understand the hydrodynamic profiles of our sites, and the organic inputs from our aquaculture operations.

Our suppliers systematically survey the benthic environment at each of our marine farms, with a remote controlled underwater camera or “ROV”. This is done to maintain the benthic health of each site, in order to plan appropriate fallowing as required.

Another important way to assess purity is to look at the processes the salmon oil goes through after the fish have been harvested. A good measure is the number of steps in the process. Most of the yellowish or off-white coloured fish oil on the market today goes through up to 14 production steps, including a soap reactor process and bleaching. Omegapure™ natural Tasmanian salmon oil only undergoes 10 steps, with absolutely no artificial chemicals used in the process.

Omegapure™ really is the only “whole food,” unadulterated omega 3 supplement available on the market.
